Nicola Jäger - Schmuckmarktpreisträgerin 2018

Date:
Thursday, 31. October 2019 - 0:00 to Sunday, 19. January 2020 - 0:00

Born in 1966 in Duisburg, the artist lives and works in Hanau. After staying abroad and studying business administration, she attended the Staatliche Zeichenakademie, where she graduated in 1994 as a goldsmith. A few years later in 2016, also at the Zeichenakademie, she graduated as a certified product designer with a focus on jewelry, equipment and accessories and passed her master exam.

The exhibition shows a part of her artistic work. Her work can be divided into individual projects. Nicola Jäger likes to follow an idea with which she deals intensively. In addition to the elaboration of content, this also includes experimenting with classical as well as goldsmith materials such as plastics, sewing thread, ceramic casting compound, photographs, etc.

Not infrequently this leads to abstract forms that do not always correspond to the classical concept of jewelery. Generally, her projects comprise a series of different pieces that always have a content and design context. This results in different series of topics, which in principle are self-contained, new knowledge inevitably flows into subsequent work.

The exhibition will be shown in the basement.
