Through her work, Veronika Fabian reflects on the significance of consumer culture and everyday objects in people’s personal lives. Twenty-first-century capitalism, and the emergence and dissolution of value, are recurring themes in her work. For Fabian, jewellery serves as an interface where the individual and society meet. A characteristic feature of her work is her experimental approach to industrially manufactured chains. She transforms these through forging, rolling and soldering. This results in greatly enlarged forms of carabiners, eyelets or strands of chain. Fabian also reinterprets everyday objects associated with consumption and identity, such as perfume bottles.
Veronika Fabian (born in 1979 in Kecskemét, Hungary) lives and works as a jewellery designer in Hungary. She studied jewellery design at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts, London, and completed the ‘MASieraad Challenging Jewellery’ master’s programme at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. Prior to this, she worked for several years in business and finance, a period that has significantly shaped her perspective on jewellery. Her works are held in collections internationally and have received numerous awards, most recently the Friedrich Becker Prize 2026.
